When The Passion Dies

The muses inspire from above
Pythia is intoxicated below

The Oracle of Delphi is disrobed
Oracles were killed for having sex

The slopes of Mount Parnassus
Washed in blood

Apollo has slain the dragon
Paganism rising

When the passion dies
You will feel it

From behind the barrier
The questions are asked

She gives the answers
With finality and grace

Or with a loud and vicious voice
From one who is not at peace

Sometimes her body shudders
Be it from prophecy or passion

Leaving her spirit restless
And her heart in ashes
