Reckless Remembrance

Sunset is fragile in its glory
The lights are intense
As the darkness descends
Impossible to grasp the moment
It feels as if it slips
through my hands
This is something I could not have planned
Forever basking in your presence
Something soon will turn out the lights
Putting it all beyond my reach
Struggling in the blindness
That becomes night
Random in the twilight
Cursing under breath
Because I have the memories
Stockpiled in my eyes
Destiny detained us
Savagely at first
Lost in a sea of sensation
Where one could drown of thirst
Prolific angels smiled upon me
Trying to find my way
At least those days were constructive
The memories seem productive
Angles shield what is worse
Ambition torn from substance
The way you looked at me once
Buried in the past
Mountains of time gone by
Reckless remembrance
